Intro to Wheel Throwing:
Adults (ages 14+):
Our six week workshops will introduce students to the wonderful world of clay. Learning basic wheel-throwing skills will be the focus of this workshop. Students will also get a chance to use slump and hump molds to create a hand-building with clay project. During the final class, students will learn how to use different glazes to decorate their creations.
Cost: $150...Includes instruction, 20lbs of clay, the bisque firings, and unlimited use of the wheels during the 6 week time period. Students will be charged for the glaze firings based on the size of their pots. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required. If you can't make all 6 weeks in a row, that's O.K because we offer makeup sessions.
Time: Saturday session starts May 24th, from 4:00-6:00pm and runs for 6 weeks.
Time: Wednesday session starts June 11th, from 6:30-8:30pm and runs for 6 weeks.
Advanced Wheel Throwing:
Adults (ages 14+):
Time: Intermediate Wheel-Throwing Session: Thursday session starts May 29th (this is a Level 2 class). , from 6:30-8:30pm and runs for 6 weeks. Jeremy Forman, a university level ceramics instructor with a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics will be teaching this class.
If you want to take your wheel throwing to the next level, this class will be perfect for you.
Note: All students of the adult wheel throwing sessions will receive discounted walk-in wheel throwing rates once their 6 week session ends. Former students will pay only $10 plus $2 per pound of clay to throw on the wheel. The $10 is a daily fee. Bisque and glaze firing charges will also be appliled based on the size of the pieces thrown. Normally it costs $25 for 1.5 hours on the wheel, 2.5 pounds of clay, and the bisque firing.
Kids' Intro to Wheel Throwing: Ages (7-14)

1 Hour Wheel Throwing Workshops:
Kids (Ages 7-14):
Kids, ages 7-14 are invited to use one of our potter's wheels during a 1 day workshop. Workshops will run the first and third Sat. of every month from 1:00-2:00pm. $15 per student. A $10 deposit is required. 2 pounds of clay, instruction, use of the tools, and the bisque firing are included. If you would like to paint the pottery piece, a measurement of the piece will be taken and the cost will be based on the size of the piece. You can paint the piece that same day using some of the underglaze paints, or you can paint it after the bisque firing which is usually around a week later.
Mosaic "Indirect Method" Class
This is a 2-week "technique" class. A mosaic design will be created on a flat 12" X 12" panel. The mosaic pieces will be glued onto contact paper and then transferred to the panel. The cost of this class is $80. It includes all of the materials and instruction.

Mosaic Table
This class is great for all ability levels and will be taught by local artist Ruth Swartout. Students will learn about mosaic design, grouting, cutting tesserae and more. Students will then apply this knowledge to complete a 28" tall, 19" diameter round cafe table or a 20" tall, 15" diameter square, round, octagon, heart or flower table. Cost of this class is $180 for the 19" diameter cafe table or $140 for any of the 15" diameter tables. This cost includes the table, instruction, glue, grout, up to 6 add-ons which will be painted and then glazed and fired, acrylic paint for grout tinting and for painting the sides of the frame. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required. Ages 12+
Mosaic Mirror

This class is great for all ability levels and will be taught by local artist Ruth Swartout. Students will learn about mosaic design, grouting, cutting tesserae and more. Students will then apply this knowledge to complete a large mirror frame. Students can choose between a 15" square mirror, a 15.75" X 18" heart mirror, or a 14.5" X 18" wavy mirror. Cost of this class is $135 which includes the mirror frame, instruction, glue, grout, up to 6 add-ons which will be painted and then glazed and fired, acrylic paint for grout tinting and for painting the sides of the frame. Pottery Painting
Adults (ages 15+):
"Confetti Flowers" Pottery Painting Class with Tim McPherson. This great Spring design will be painted using a special confetti glaze. Wed. June 11th from 6:00-9:00pm

Chicago artist Tim McPherson will be teaching this class. He's a world renowned instructor, bringing a great deal of fun to the
learning process. Tim has many years of experience in teaching
all phases of fired and non fired ceramic art.
Creative Class Schedule
Intro to Glass Fusing and Slumping:
Adults (ages 15+):
Nothing beats the sparkle of glass. We're truly excited to introduce the art of glass fusing and slumping to you. This introductory course will teach students how to properly score, cut and assemble glass in an artistic way. Students will complete one fused and slumped project and one pendant. Cost of the class is $45 and includes all materials. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for each class. Ages 15+

Mommy and Me Classes (ages 2-6)
(If mommy is busy, daddys or grandparents will enjoy these classes too!)
Our parent-child classes are a great way to spend special time together while creating lasting memories. After listening to a classic story, we'll take you step by step to creating a special pottery or mosaic piece.
Cost of class is $20 per child with a $20 non-refundable deposit. If siblings take the class together, both will receive 10% off the class fee. Class time is one hour. Pottery projects will be glazed and fired and ready for pick-up a week later. Mosaic projects may be taken home that day.

Introduction to Jewelry and Basic Stringing
This workshop is a great introduction into the wonderful world of beads. Students will learn about beads, findings and how to use beading tools. Students will then apply this knowledge to complete a necklace and bracelet set that they can wear home! Cost of workshop is $15 + cost of selected beads (no outside beads please). A $10 non-refundable deposit is required. Ages 12+
